Joint working between the City Office and Golden Key
Richard Chilvers is the new Homelessness Project Manager at the City Office and Golden Key.
Richard's work falls under three strands:
Working with a wide range of city institutions to find different types of bed spaces to support people getting off the street. This includes supporting the development of new night shelters, moving forward with innovations including charity guardianships, Housing First and refitting two buses for homeless people to sleep in.
A hearts and minds initiative to enable people to engage with rough sleeping and help the public support efforts to get people into sustainable accommodation.
A livelihoods pilot project which is set to work with formerly homeless people to help them access employment or skills.
The key to the City Office and Golden Key approach is engaging with a lot of different partners from the homelessness service providers to businesses, unions and the council so the whole city is engaged with finding solutions to one of the most pressing issues in Bristol.
