Great Practice Awards 2020: nominations open

The Golden Key partnership is bringing about change at every level for Bristol citizens with the most complex needs. The Great Practice Awards 2020 will reflect this aspiration, celebrating the work of individuals, organisations and networks that are creating systemic change across the city.

The first ever Great Practice Awards in January 2019 were a great success and the 2020 awards have developed in response to feedback from the first event. We welcome nominations from across the city in the following six categories:

The nomination process is now open and the closing date for submissions is Thursday 5th December 2019 at 12 noon.

Voting for the System Change Hero Award (which will be decided by public vote) will be open in the next two weeks.

Inspiring Learning Award

This award celebrates those who have successfully engaged, informed or have learned from others, bringing about positive action or a change in behaviour to improve the lives of people with complex needs. Nominees can include individuals, organisations or networks.

This work can be online or offline e.g. a campaign, piece of lobbying, training, creating platforms for sharing learning.

PIEoneering Change Award

This award recognises the importance of creating psychologically informed environments and approaches when working with people with complex needs. It celebrates individuals and organizations that use psychological thinking to put the needs of each person at the heart of everything they do.

Examples could include: creating reflective spaces, allowing for mistakes and considering the wider impact of decisions and changes.

Developing Trust Award

This award recognises the importance of developing trusting relationships. It celebrates individuals, organisations or networks that act with integrity when working with people to make change happen.

Cultivating Change Award

The Cultivating Change Award recognises that, in order to create system change, people need to feel empowered to create change themselves. The award is for individuals who trust, support and facilitate others to make changes to the system that positively impact on the lives of people with complex needs.

This could include line managers, commissioners, your colleagues.

Independent Futures Award

This award celebrates individuals, organisations and networks who demonstrate a commitment to changing and elevating the community by meaningfully and creatively collaborating with people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage.

This could include community groups, volunteers, commissioners, services, businesses.

System Change Hero Award

This award applauds the individuals who are working to make the system better for everyone. This person takes the bigger picture into account, making connections, sharing learning and working across organisational boundaries to create better experiences for people with complex needs using services.

This award will be decided by popular public vote.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Watershed on 22 January 2020 (5.30-7pm). Each winner will be presented with their award by Deputy Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Asher Craig.
