Exhibition: See the Full Picture | 1st-5th July 2019
On Wednesday 3rd July the National Lottery Community Fund is launching the first ever Multiple Disadvantage Day. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of issues faced by people who encounter multiple disadvantage in accessing services and support.
To mark this day in Bristol, Golden Key will host an exhibition called See the Full Picture, showing creative work by people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage from across the partnership and the city. This is a great opportunity for clients, peers and others with lived experience to share their creative work and vision.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Midnight on Sunday 9th June 2019
All selected artwork will be mounted and framed, and there will be information in the space to tell visitors about the exhibition.
Aims:
To provide space for people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage to share their creative work and vision
To raise awareness with the general public around multiple disadvantage
Invitation for submissions:
The exhibition will be held at The New Room in Broadmead, Bristol. The exhibition space can host approximately 15 physical pieces of work and we invite submissions of:
Drawings/paintings
Poetry/quotes
Photography
Other artistic/craft output* which could be effectively shared in this setting
*Unfortunately there is no space for sculpture / 3D work.
Next steps:
The intention is to display all submissions on the Golden Key website throughout the week. It is hoped that all pieces will also be digitally displayed on a rotating display at the venue throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition will be able to host approximately 15 physical pieces of artwork, so a panel made up of people from across Golden Key (including people with lived experience) will identify a mixed range of content to represent the wide range of contributions.
We welcome submissions from any person with lived experience of multiple disadvantage (complex needs).
