Emergency Accommodation Team
The Emergency Accommodation Team was initially set up as part of the government’s Everyone In initiative at the start of the pandemic. We worked together with some of our partners to manage one of the Bristol hotels that was set up as emergency accommodation for rough sleepers.
The site managed by Golden Key went on to received additional funding to provide support to clients with high/complex needs in temporary accommodation. Our aim was to provide additional accommodation and tenancy support capacity across the city to meet the extra need created by the pandemic and to reduce the number of individuals returning to street homelessness.
We also aspired to use this opportunity to develop Golden Key’s learning by implementing and testing innovative psychologically informed practice in a ‘real world’ setting.

Emergency Accommodation Team
Our work was continuously and independently evaluated by the University of the West of England. This ensured that what we learnt could be shared with and used by services to improve the system for people with multiple disadvantage. Phase 4 of the evaluation was published in 2021 and specifically looked at our system change activities over the years.
